First of all, a clarification. Dear friends, don't let yourself being fooled by sites and TV commercials that promises you free ringtones for you cell. Don't trust someone that says "just 1 dollar for your ringtone". Those services activates incredibly expensive subscribing and automatically download softwares in your PC with highest bills. In those pages we present a guide to put in the ringtones you want in your cell without paying and installing external sofwares. Enjoy the Gravitation ringtones and remember that you'll be able to install in your cell whatever MP3, MID or WAV file. To know the supported format of your cell, please read its handbook.

Your PC (or notebook) must be abilitated for the bluetooth system. If you don't have it, almost certainly you have a USB interface and you'll just have to use a bluetooth dongle (a USB key with bluetooth interface) to send the ringtones to your cellphone. Otherwise, you can use an USB cable. Consult your cell user-handbook for more informations.

Ringtones via bluetooth

Step 1: the bluetooth function must be activated both on PC and cell. To activate it on the cell search in the menu to find the right section.

For example, on a Nokia it will be: "connectivity" > "bluetooth" > "on/off"
On Siemens will be: "Setup" > "Bluetooth" > "on/off"
On Sony Ericsson: "Connectivity" > "bluetooth" > "Activate".
Refer to your handbook, it will aslo be a good idea to choose an easy name for your cell so that it will be easier to recognize it from your PC.

Step 2: Now you have to set up the bluetooth on your PC. The bluetooth icon is often on the desktop or in the application bar. Through this icon you can enter the so-called "bluetooth ambient". If you can't this way try from: Start > Programs.
On Mac Os X go to "System Preferences" > "Bluetooth" > "Activate Bluetooth"

Step 3: Find in your computer all of the bluetooth devices nearby. It is important that your cell is showed with the name you gave to it.

Step 4: at this point find out if it really worked. If yes, you'll se your cell with the name you gave it, otherwise just find it out among the other listed devices.

Step 5: if during the connection a password is required, be sure to remember it well, since it will always be required in the future connections.

Step 6: the bluetooth connection is ready. The ringtone can be transferred. Open the directory on your PC or Notebook where the ringtone is kept (for example, you can download gravitation ringtones at the bottom of this page). Right-click on the choosen file, left-click on "send to" and finally click on "bluetooth".

Ringtones via USB Cable

Another way to transer your ringtone is by using an USB cable. This technique is a bit older than bluetooth.
Though some kinds of products, for example Nokia Series 60, are no more equipped with data-cable, this is not an undervaluable technique. For some cells (ex. Siemens SX1), it's possible to buy an extra data-cable.
So, if you want to connect your cellphone to the PC via cable, you must make sure that both are equipped for this and that the cell has an appropriate software, that allows the data transfer. The software, if it exist, should be inside the cellphone original box. At this poin, the transfer is relatively easy.

Step 1: connect the cell to the PC through the USB cable.

Step 2: if needed, install the data transfer software that you find in the cell box. Don't install other softwares download from the internet! During the installation follow software instructions.

Step 3: launch the cell software on your PC.

Step 4: at this point, it will be shown how to synchronize the ringtone with the cell, in other words, how to transfer the audio file to the ringtone section of your cell. For more informations, please read the handbook of your cell.

To save the ringtones in your PC, right-click on the title and choose "Save Object with Name" or "save destination as..."
