Sweet&Drools: your weekly dessert

Laliho to everybodyyy! Little lords and little madames, it is with great pleasure that i present to you all the new, nanodading, ultrasuper fantastic column of Nanoda! Sweet&Drolls! Our first special guest of this evening is Kuroshitsuji, that has allowed us to interview him in a "hit and answer" session!

   honey-senpai-nanoda

However, this proposal has been wandered in our editorial for days; or maybe even weeks! But finally, I bring it to you now, on this very page that you are reading! Allow me to start with the questions!

What is Sweet&Drools?
Firstly, allow me to tell you what it means: The Sweets, are the candies, & the Drools, are well... drools. xD Todays sweets will be for those who are looking for more "challenging" manga, generically horror , introspective. If I find anymore interesting genders, then I shall add them immediatly. Todays Drools will be for fanboys and fangirls; yaoi, yuri, hentai.

So you take care of the whole column?
Yes, i take care of it all, supported by my close friend Aiko-chan, that i show you in this showcase while she tries to exit from her hutch. I shall try to update this column weekly, but I prefer not to specify any day of the week.

But boys, we must try to start this first post talking about serious things. Today we are lucky, as we are able to proudly present the baronet Ciel Phantomhive, who will tell to us about the series that sees him as a protagonist with his butler Sebastian, who decided to stay behind the scenes to prepare the tea and scones. xD

Ukeboy: Good evening Lord Phantomhive!
Ciel: ...
Ukeboy: Very nice as always... so, are you ready to talk a bit about Kuroshitsuji? First of all, explain us what it is in few words!
Ciel: It is an anime.
Ukeboy: Yeah, we knew that...
Ciel: Fine! It is also a manga.
Ukeboy: Yes, we knew that too. You arent talking enough! Tell us more about what the anime is about!!
Ciel: I it is a an anime about me and Sebastian's story... i mean, er.... the story that connects us... Let me start again!  So, it talks about me, my family and why that damned demon-butler serves me.
Ukeboy: Ohhh! Very good! You finally spoke up!! So is it a shounen-ai story?
Ciel: ...
Ukeboy: Or maybe it is a confirm?
Ciel: I'm coupled with a girl.
Ukeboy: ...
Ciel: I'm saying the truth, plebeian.
Ukeboy: Excellent! so the story doesn't talk only about your relationship.
Ciel: Relationship? Well... the story actually talks pretty much about us, but surely not in that way... or at least, not in sexual terms, you ped0phile.
Ukeboy: PDF file? How am i a PDF file? nevermind... Anyway, what kind of gender whould you classify this anime/manga to be?
Ciel: well... Er.. I guess i could say that it is a gothic-shounen. And a bit introspective too.
Ukeboy: I see! you`re getting good at this! how about the drawings, are they good?
Ciel: I don't know, tell me! Am I well drawn? Do i look bad?
Ukeboy: OMGTFOMG no, i seriously think not, bocchan!
Ciel: What? What was the last word?
Ukeboy: Oh, nothing, nothing at all... I was just commenting on the fact that the drawing style looks fantastic, and the animations are even more stunning, and the climax conveys perfectly the gothic vision perfectly!
Ciel: you are sssoooooo boring... have we finished? Or do you have anything else to bore me with??
Ukeboy: ???!!! Err...... certainly not!!!!....  Sorry to disturb you!!!! You can return to yourcastle!!
Ciel: ...
Ciel e Sebastian

As could you see from the interview, Kuroshitsuji is a teatrically gothic-shounen, with a clean drawing style. Surely, as Nabari, it isn't something suitable for everyone. Unlike before, It is not because of the shounen-ai inherent in history. Instead it is rather because of the "strong" scenes that are not suitable for everyone for everyone.

The thing that makes Kuroshitsuji unique, is the way in which it combinines the Japanese-style comedy with a wicked and gothic plot. Also, this anime doesn't miss keeps the relationships between any secondary characters. Also, this anime satisfies your need for yao ... err, I mean, inspiration for your own future ideas and stories!

Kuroshitsuji

So, how did it score?
On a scale of one to ten, the final mark is most definetly a nine. Here are my main three reasons for giving it such a mark; Firstly, the frenzy of the plot of the entire anime can often be confusing. The transitions between different parts of the story can also be unclear, and you can easily misinterprit the entire plot!  Also, british history has obviously been well researched, and has full involvment with the story. it is quite humerous to see Jack the ripper on an anime, as well as quite alarming! Lastly, Ciel Phantomhive is a very well thought out charector, with a feel of superiority around him.

An action shounen from Yana Toboso which has all the potentiality to involve young and old - ok, maybe with a nice red sticker we can avoid the children - fangirls and simple otaku, people passing by this site and not!

A direct experience with a trend - not really known - of the Japanese anime: the gothic.
Recommended to anyone who would really understand something about the world of the Japan animation!

Hoping that you enjoyed yourselves reading Kuroshitsuji, I leave you some screenshots and the link to - ohoh! - the series on the NanodaTv, calling you for the next episode... see you at the LaLiHo next one!!
