Yup, yup... it was difficult, I did have no idea and aiko was in panic: we were not able to find an introspective story, Yes, surely it's not a beloved anime genre, evidently, although after the success of Death Note something seemed to move from the deep of the sea... but everything remains vague and it's preferred to do a bit of drama, comedy, in those few anime where sessions of pensive can be counted on hands.
Before talking about this - imho - really interesting anime, I would thank Usagi-san, Polaris, Mokona and naturally Aiko-chan, that allows me to talk you about these fantastic pearls of Japanese animation! Thank you all!
And now let's talk about serious stuff! Ladies and Gentlemen... I'm so pleased and excited to introduce you Shion Yasuoka [安岡 紫音], this evening guest!
Shion, actually, has a little problem, infact she is mute. A child's trauma block her from talking, so that i've to read what she writes on the paper.
| Ukeboy: Good evening Lady Yasuoka! Shion: Good evening to you. Ukeboy: I want to greet you because you accepted to take part in this short interview for Sweet&Drolls. Shion: Don't worry. The matter is that you will really drop down that check of... Ukeboy: OHHHH! SO! LET'S START TO TALK ABOUT SHION NO OU! Shion: ... Ukeboy: ...uhm... Shion: Mh... Ukeboy: Well, so would you start to talk about the plot of the serie? Shion: Oh right... well, first of all I guess the most of the anime explains itself with this, please wait, i grab it from my pocket... Ukeboy: Oh... a king. You in fact are a professionist player of shogi, aren't you? Shion: Yes, exactly, the king is the most important token in the whole game and... well, the most significant in the story, as well as in the shogi-board. Ukeboy: I got it... so every single little piece will be a keystone of the story! Very interesting... another question, if it'd be not a bother... Could you please explain to us what is "Shogi"? Shion: Shogi... Shogi is in the whole an art, a strategic plane to fight as it was a real battle field to the final act... it's played with 20 pieces and a board with 9 rows and 8 columns. Ukeboy: Interesting... i know it's becoming very famous and not only in Japan! Above all someone says it's a clone of western chess... Shion: Yes, but the real Shogi is the Japanese one only, who is not Japanese can't become a real professionist player. Huh and anyway the chess is a variant of an Indian game, the Chaturanga. So if we would tell the truth, chess is a low-quality copy of that one. Ukeboy: Er.. oh! Well! So nice the stuff. But rather... so you, just to remember that, are the protagonist of Shion No Ou, an anime containing drama and introspective mixed and which is centred on the piece of the king. Shion: Exactly. What would you answer if I asked for a game? Ukeboy: Huh? No, really, well, so... i have to work, now, yes... i'm reeeeeeeeally sorry, uh... Shion: Wow. how couragious... Ukeboy: But... really. Rather, I have to say you farewell, thank you for everything and now go to fuc... Shion: How dare you... Ukeboy: GO AWAY O.O |

Arhm, so now, after this really interesting interview, we found out that Shion No Ou is a serie where Shogi owns the lead role in the story and is the path followed by our Shion Yasuoka to discover who did.... oh, well, if I tell you there's no more taste!
The drawings are splendid and sometimes they bring your mind to Full Metal Panic's - yes, exactly FMP - with a extraordinary plot, developed in 23 episodes of anime and eight vols in the manga, characterized by the extraordinary drawings, which I'll show some image about below. It's actually under work, unpublished - unfortunately... or fortunately? - in Italy

Are or aren't they fantastic? The draw is really splendid, clean, catapults the reader in a atmosphere which is completely intent in that world where Shion finds herself to investigate. But what does she indagate? Chi? Why? Doubts that will be solved by watching the first episode of the anime or by reading the manga...
In the end, after praising the draw of Jiro Ando and the plot written by Katori Masaru remains to give a rate of the entire masterpiece, as usual.
The rate is surely a Nine, a fantastic 9, I'd say. The only defect is probably the excessive shojo print, that sometimes ruins the taut atmosphere. Moreover the protagonist isn't a new character, but is surely a detailed shape of a - possible - new vision of the Japanese girl.
Might she be a female Kira?
It'll be on the NanodaTv in a short time, the anime in Italian and English.
Follow the uploads of episodes.
but the manga can be actually read at 17th, where you'll be able to admire the drawings which are simply divine.
Hoping we did our daily good action also for this 4th appointment -a very hard work, thanks to Opera... - of Sweet&Drolls... I say you LaLiHo-bye!
See you at the next, guys!
