Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm! The videogame based on the Naruto anime.

Finally! Naruto has his own video game on playstation 3. First it was only Ultimate Ninja, but now we have ultimate ninja storm too!

    

Naruto Ultimate ninja store was released last October in the United States and in Italy in November. This game has revolutionalized Naruto games, most notably the graphics. To be honest, its impossible to tell the game from the anime, and some may say that the graphics in the game are better than real anime!

When we first started the game, the first thing that we noticed was thought the fighting scenes had been given a huge upgrade. The scenes were larger, more interactive, and the general 3D feel of the game has been improved dramatically. Also, the high level of interaction in the game allows you to be alot more tactical. This allows you to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the scenes and use them against your opponent. Look at the image below; imagine the possible things you could do...

If you liked the 2 previous games (Ultimate Ninja and Ultimate Ninja 2), have no fear, as Ultimate ninja storm has not lost any game modes!

The story mode: In this mode you control young Naruto, with the whole of Konoha to explore! There are nearly 100 missions to be completly in Konoha, which will be given to you by inhabitants of konoha. If you are familiar with Naruto manga or anime, you will almost certainly recognise most of the missions. Ocassionally you will be able to play fun mini games which can help you use your skills and abilities. these include; pursuits on rooftops, leaps and somersaults suspended in mid-air, and many others!

The whole game is dotted with boss fights (like Manda, Shukaku, Gamabunta, etc...) and various other enemies that must be defeated in order to continue the game.

Arcade mode: This is when Team play becomes a more and more important issue in Naruto ultimate ninja storm. It isnt very different in comparison to previous Naruto games, as you and your opponent will be capable of making teams with up to 3 players, calling team members onto the field is as simple as pressing L1 and R1 (the shoulder buttons).

You can only call team members onto the fight for a few seconds, but they will try their best at performing a combo, or chucking some kind of projectile at your enemy before they dissapear. They can be recalled as many times as you like. This is very useful as you can then take your time doing somewthing else. I.e. charging up your chakra. However, the cool thing about Team play is the fact that you will be able to activate special moves. The Jutsu can be activated via a series of combos in a middle of a fight. Special moves are very fun to watch, do alot of damadge to your oponent, and show just how good the graphics of the game are. Below you can see Naruto activating a Justu.
 Yet, you must not get too carried away, because there are four bars you must keep an eye on! The first two will point out the health and chakra level of your character (life is green/beige, Chakra is blue). You can also see the health of your team mates, in the orange bars below their their faces. The last one (at the bottom) only appears when a special move is activated. in order to carry out your jutsu, you must make sure that it becomes full.

In this videogame there will be 25 playable characters, and 10 support charectors (You can never play as them but you can add them to your team and call to help you).

How did our game score?!

• Graphics: Very colored and practically equal to the anime in Cell-Shading style (8.5)
• Sonorous: Original music (7.5)
• Gameplay: Very fast but a little too much simple (7.5)
• Longevity: Middle-tall, increasable if he plays online (8)
• General vote: 7.5

Like all other games it has its pros and cons:

Good: So many characters in comparison to the precedents games, graphically beautiful, two mode of play

Pros: There is a huge selection of charectors, as well as beautifully animated graphics. The game still keeps its wonderful two mode system too. .

Cons: The charector controls are far too simple, and there is only one special move per charector.
When you buy this game you can choose between two different versions. The first is the normal edition. The other is te collectors edition which has an additional CD with the original Sound track of the Anime of Naruto. It also has a cool double sided cover with Naruto and Sasuke on the front, and just Naruto at the back.

Lastly, just a small thought... havent they gotten a little bored with making games about Narutos 1st series??? Have the game developers ever even heard of SHIPPUDEN? I think we are all getting a little bored with the little Naruto!
