Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden’s new chapter release postponed to spring 2010!

Due to health problems and current work projects which takes major part of her time, mangaka Yuu Watase announced that the new chapter of her fantastic and romantic adventure Genbu Kaiden will not be released before spring 2010!

    

It's official as the news was published last Wednesday on Yuu Watase's official website. This news is really a bad shock for Genbu Kaiden fans who will have to wait another whole year for the continuation of the story of Takiko and the Celestial Warriors! In fact the fans were waiting since months as the manga was interrupted summer 2008 in a very crucial moment of the lovestory between Takiko and Rimudo.

"Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden" whose first volume was out in 2003 in Japan, is currently being published in America by Viz Media which will release the 8th volume next month.

Genbu Kaiden is the prequel of the famous manga series Fushigi Yuugi which was completed in 2004. The thing which differs from the old series is that the new style of drawing is far better than the precedent one, and that also the story is more mature. I suggest to read it if you have missed the old Fushigi Yuugi, because this new series is really a feast for the eyes.

The author, Yuu Watase apologized to her readers and explained that the delay is due to her health problems and because she wants to continue with the other projects she is currently working on. So the fans will have to exercise patience for another year in order to read the new chapter.

Watase promised also a new fan book of Genbu Kaiden which will be distributed in summer 2009; Sakura Gari, yaoi manga which is being published on the Shogakukan's Rinka magazine since 2007

And a new manga entitled "Arata Kangatari" which appeared for the first time in the Autumn of 2008 on the Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine.

What else can I say to you if not... we are waiting desperately for the return of Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden!!!"
