Disney acquires Marvel: 5000 characters ready to invade Mouseton.

Super Goof wasn't enough... what will Paperinik do now that competition increased?

    

Disney acquired Marvel Entertainment, that began his rise in the sixties under the direction of Stan Lee, for 4 billions of dollard, about 50 dollars for share, a price superior of 29% to the Marvel closing one of last friday (38,65 dollars). With this move, the californian giant assures series of really great success, Spider Man, X-men, The incredible Hulk, Fantastic Four, etc…, assuring the rights of both the papery and audiovisual divisions, animation and movies.

After the problems of the last years, Disney changes again face, the passage from papers and pencil to the digital was already traumatic in a way, getting near to his romantic heroes the muscles and fights of the “Super Heroes”; this should make them able to enter violently in a slice of market historically deficit: the adolescent males. Disney is in fact popular all along between girls thanks to films such as “Hannah Montana” but oppositely, after the infantile age, never reached the same success with boys.
Since today, so, the catalogue expands with over 5.000 characters.

On the official press release the house of Orlando explains through his presiden Robert Iger:
''We believe that adding Marvel to Disney’s unique portfolio of brands provides significant opportunities for long-term growth and value creation. We are pleased to bring this talent and these great assets to Disney".

Marvel is also satisfied. So the managing director Ike Perlmutter speaks:
“Disney is the perfect home for Marvel’s fantastic library of characters given its proven ability to expand content creation and licensing businesses. This is an unparalleled opportunity for Marvel to build upon its vibrant brand and character properties by accessing Disney’s tremendous global organization and infrastructure around the world''.

To ask after this fusion, that I remember must be assessed by the american antitrust before becoming effective, is how will change in Italy, by reflex, the hierarchies of the rights about Marvel products.
