After the release of the luxurious Dragonball Perfect Edition (Kanzenban) in Japan, interest has once again been revived for the good old Dragonball.

Ukiyoe,"pictures of the floating world", is a genre of woodcut prints carved into a wooden block used as a mould. They were produced between the 17th and the 20th centuries and feature Japanese landscapes, historical tales, theatre, actors, and high points of life in general.

The "floating world" refers to the concept of the ephemeral things: nothing's eternal, everything follows the strict rules of birth, prosperity and beauty and final decadence. Almost everyone knows Katsushika Hokusai ????, one of the most important and famous Japanese artists, or, probably, you know his most remarkable print: the "great wave". However, maybe only a few people know that Hokusai drew some "manga" too, although they're very different from the ones like "One Piece" and "Naruto", that we read today.
